Every template above is a live preview of a real Gmail signature, not a picture of one. Click a design, type your work email and Signguin loads your company logo, colors and contact details from your website. Then install it straight into Gmail, or copy and paste it into Gmail's settings. For a walkthrough of both methods, see our Gmail signature generator.
Which templates work best in Gmail
Gmail has plenty of room on a computer and little on a phone, so the best designs are compact, built from tables and light on images.
- Classic (free) is the safe default: logo or photo on the left, a thin line in your brand color, details on the right. It stays short under a two-line reply.
- Simple (free) puts your name on top and the contact lines underneath, which reads well in the Gmail app.
- Local pro (free) adds a big tap-to-call phone button, the shortest path from your email to a call when customers read on their phone.
- Sales (Premium) carries a button such as "Book a call" under every email.
- Graduate (Premium) leads with a portfolio link, for students and job seekers. More in email signatures for students.
- Minimal (Premium) is text only, with no logo or icons, so it looks the same when images are blocked.
- Badge, Realtor and Corporate (Premium) put your company or photo up front.
In every design, social icons are at least 20 px so they're easy to tap, and under "Colours & fonts" you can show them in your signature's color or each network's own colors.
Why image and document templates struggle in Gmail
Search for Gmail signature templates and most results are image files (vectors, PSD files, Canva designs) or templates you edit in Word or Google Docs. In Gmail they cause three problems:
- A picture is not a signature. If your whole signature is one image, nobody can tap your phone number or copy your email address, and readers who block images see an empty box.
- Images eat the limit. Google allows up to 10,000 characters in a signature and counts images toward it, so a large image can trigger an error.
- Hand-built HTML shifts. One Stack Overflow question shows a signature built with divs and flexbox that grows a 1px gap once pasted into Gmail. Email apps handle layout CSS differently, which is why every Signguin design uses tables and inline styles.
Signguin keeps your details as real text and hosts the logo and icons at a fixed size, stored at double resolution so they stay sharp. Every design fits the 10,000-character limit. More in our email signature size guide.
How to add a template to Gmail
Both options work with the free designs.
Install straight into Gmail. In the editor's last step, choose Gmail and click "Add to Gmail automatically". Google asks for one permission: changing your Gmail settings (gmail.settings.basic). Signguin can't read your email and doesn't keep the access.
Copy and paste. Click "Copy signature", open Gmail on a computer, click the gear icon, then "See all settings". In the "General" tab, scroll to "Signature", create a new one and paste. Pick it under "Signature defaults" and click "Save Changes".
On Google Workspace, if your admin blocks third-party apps, copy and paste still works. For replies, multiple signatures and phone settings, read how to change your Gmail signature.
Works in Gmail, Outlook & Apple Mail
What's free and what's Premium
You don't need an account to make and install a free signature. Saving it to edit later is free too: sign in with your email and reopen it from "My signatures".
| Free | Premium (one-time, one person) | |
|---|---|---|
| Designs | Classic, Simple, Local pro | All 23 |
| Logo, brand colors, social icons, fonts | Yes | Yes |
| Legal note, white box behind logo | Yes | Yes |
| Install into Gmail, copy and paste, HTML code | Yes | Yes |
| Save and edit later | Yes, with email sign-in | Yes |
| Your photo | No | Yes |
| Button and banner | No | Yes |
| "Save contact" button (vCard) | No | Yes |
| "Made with Signguin" link | Shown, small | Removed |
Premium covers your own signatures; colleagues can use the free version.
Two Gmail settings to check
- Replies need a default too. Under "Signature defaults", choose your signature for new emails and for replies.
- Dark mode can hide a dark logo. Use the dark mode toggle in the preview, and turn on "White box behind logo" if your logo disappears. More in email signatures in dark mode.
When Signguin is not the right fit
If you need to push one signature to a whole company from the Google Workspace admin console, or track clicks on your signature, Signguin doesn't do that. Premium is for one person, and team features are on a waitlist.

FAQ
Are these Gmail signature templates free?
Three are: Classic, Simple and Local pro. You can fill them in and install them straight into Gmail or copy and paste them, with no account and no credit card. Free signatures show a small "Made with Signguin" link at the bottom. The other 20 designs, your photo, buttons, banners and "Save contact" are Premium, a one-time payment for one person.
Do these templates work with Google Workspace?
Yes. A Workspace address has the same signature settings as any Gmail account. The automatic install only needs your administrator to allow third-party apps. If your company blocks them, copy and paste instead: it works on every account and gives the same result.
Will my logo show up in Gmail?
Yes. Signguin hosts your logo and icons online at a fixed size, so they show for your readers and don't break if your website changes. If a reader blocks images, they still see your name, phone number and email address, because those are real text rather than part of a picture.
Why does my signature look different in the Gmail app?
The Gmail app has its own "Mobile Signature" setting. If it's turned on, emails you send from the app use that plain-text signature instead of your designed one. Google's help says that without a mobile signature, the app uses the signature you set on your computer, so turning it off brings your full signature back.
Is there a size limit for Gmail signatures?
Yes. Google allows up to 10,000 characters, and images count toward that limit. Every Signguin design stays under it, even with a logo and social icons. If Gmail shows an error when you save a signature you built yourself, Google suggests resizing the image.
Can I change my Gmail signature later?
Yes, and it's free. Sign in with your email to save your signature, reopen it from "My signatures", edit it and install the new version the same way. Think of it as a tuxedo you can have re-tailored whenever your job title or phone number changes.
